Back Garden

This is our back garden. The 3rd photo was taken today. The bench is still there, just covered with snow.

Atlantic Ocean

The cliffs and ocean at Fort Amherst today. The snow covered land in the distance is Cape Spear, the most easterly point of land in North America.

After the Snowstorm

This is someone on my street clearing out their driveway. Actually I think they are clearing the road, we didn't see a plow all day! We got over 30cm of snow and that with the 100km/hr winds resulted in some pretty high drifts.

Downtown After the Snow

We had a bit of snow last night and everything was covered again this morning. Expect more photos of snow tomorrow since we're in the middle of a storm now.

We drove to Holyrood today, there were a few flurries but overall it was a nice day for a drive.

This photo was taken this afternoon when it was snowing. Not the greatest picture but it shows what downtown St. John's is like, a mix of the old and new.

Tulips

Remember this gift (click here)? Well, today is my birthday so I got to open it and it is a new lens from Joe....this lens to be exact. I often complain about having to switch lenses when I am out and about to get more zoom, this should solve that problem. Today's photo wasn't taken with the new lens, though, I used my macro lens for this. This is actually 2 photos, I layered the top tulip on and faded it a bit. I don't do much digital art but sometimes I am in the mood to experiment.

Geo Centre

This is the Geo Centre, a geological museum with very interesting displays, especially the huge planets hanging from the ceiling. You can read more about it on their website.

Supply Ship

I took some pictures across the harbour this morning and almost froze my fingers off, it was cold! This is a supply ship returning to port from the oil fields.

A Walk in the Park

I went to Bowring Park this morning for a walk. It was chilly, about -6ºC but I found out that earmuffs really work. Here is one natural looking photo and one I played with a bit.
