Middle Cove

We went for a drive today, it was cold and windy and raining off and on, but that's autumn for you!

Autumn Leaves

Leaves from the maple trees in my garden. Not many have turned yet.

Autumn Colours

Autumn has just started and so has the turning of the leaves.

Backyard Birds

There were about 30 grackles in my back garden today, only the 2nd time I have ever seen grackles (and the 1st time was 2 days ago). There were also blue jays, northern flickers, starlings and juncos out there today.

It was a beautiful day for taking photos. I went to Cape Spear and even though it was windy and cool, it was a lovely day.

Kent's Pond

Kent's Pond on a beautiful day.......fall is on the way as you can see by the trees but it was warm today.

We were in CBS today walking some trails and doing some geocaches.

Topsail Beach

I walked along Topsail beach today and also the trail through the woods. It was sunny and windy, a little cool but nice for walking.

Logy Bay to Sugar Loaf Head

Today I hiked a part of the East Coast Trail from the Oceans Science Centre in Logy Bay to Sugar Loaf Head.......2 km each way, a lot of uphill climbing for the first part. The views were amazing and the weather was perfect. 19ºC with very little wind......surprising since I was on top of one of the highest hills around and it's always windy here.

Goldfinch

We've had a lot of goldfinches in the back garden lately, using the birdbath and eating seed from the feeders. Today while I was mowing the lawn one of them flew into the window. It lay stunned in the grass for a long time. I went inside and got my camera and took several photos of it. It flew away after a little while. Later I got a few photos of a goldfinch in the tree.....I doubt it was the same one.

Kenny's Pond & Shriners Parade

We walked around Kenny's Pond this afternoon and also saw the Shriners parade on the nearby road.

Golf With a View

I was walking some trails in Pippy Park today and one of them came very close to the golf course. What a beautiful view they have from there.

It rained all day, I had to take photos inside.

Bluejays and a Walk Around the Pond

The bluejays and I had a photo shoot today......haha. I set up the small camera on the deck and took a video of them, the video here is 2 1/2 minutes. Then I went for a walk around a nearby pond.
