Rennie's River

Lots of ice in the river, we've had a cold snap, it was -6.8ºC when I was taking these pictures this afternoon. Both pictures taken with a long shutter speed.

Taken near Long Pond this afternoon, as you can see we've got a little bit of snow and the cold temperature today (-6ºC) is keeping it around.

Christmas Day

A busy day today, turkey dinner, gift opening, calls to family and then the big clean up. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day. Here is a different photo of our tree with gifts for the family underneath it. I decided to give it a sepia look.

Christmas Eve

The presents are wrapped and under the tree, the stockings are stuffed, the table is set, the turkey is ready for the oven tomorrow morning. Merry Christmas everyone!

We had a bit of snow last night, just a centimetre or two. I took these pictures on a walking trail.

I went to the Basilica Museum today where they have over 100 nativities from all over the world on Display.

St. John's

I went for a short walk today to an area that overlooks the city. I took several photos and Joe made this panorama out of them. As always, click on the photo for a larger view.

Mundy Pond

I walked around Mundy Pond this morning, it was around 7ºC. Pretty well all of the snow has melted, I wonder will we have a green Christmas?

Looking in our living room window, it looks like Christmas!

Downtown today on a sunny but cold day.

Northern Flicker

This Flicker came to the deck and ate a peanut when the blue jays were getting them. I didn't think a Flicker would eat a peanut, I thought they ate mostly insects. Oh well, I guess when it is -6 and there's snow on the ground a peanut will do.

Christmas Lights

The first picture was taken in Bowring Park and the 2nd is of Waterford Manor.

The Rooms

The Rooms (art gallery/museum) downtown. I was hoping it would be more lit up with Christmas lights but it wasn't. The poles wrapped with lights don't have much impact.

Shattered

This ornament fell off the tree and shattered when I was decorating the tree, I kept it so I could take pictures of it.

It may be a little early for some, but I have my house decorated for Christmas.

We had a snowstorm last night and it snowed much of the day. These were taken near Long Pond in the city.

My friend wanted me to take a picture of my Willow Tree Angel collection, here they are. I put my Christmas tree up today (not decorated yet) so that made a nice background.

Freezing Rain

Freezing rain today, here is what's left of my flower box.

Christmas is Coming

Christmas is coming and I've wrapped a lot of gifts, I've also received some (of course they will stay wrapped until Christmas morning). This one is from my sister, she always wraps them so nicely.

Snow!

It snowed almost all day today. I went for a walk around Kenny's Pond to take pictures of it because it's supposed to rain tomorrow.

Blue Jays

Today there were several blue jays on the deck taking the peanuts so I decided to set up our small camera and take a video of them. Joe edited it, just click on it to start it playing. It's a bit long but I think the end is cute. As you can see from the video it was snowing a bit this morning.
