Happy Birthday to Me!

Yep, it's my birthday today. Since it's just the two of us we have mini cakes instead of a big one. Here are a few pics I took of them, and of some ballons that I blew up just for pictures. I'm too old for balloons, right?

Bowring Park

I went for a walk in Bowring Park today. It was only a little bit warmer than yesterday. But the sun was nice.

Birds

I got my new camera today, a Canon 40D (that was fast, it was only ordered yesterday morning from Ontario). Even though it was freezing out and I almost froze my fingers off, I went to Quidi Vidi Lake and took pics of the birds. I like my new camera!

Harbour Front

Still trying out my friend's camera, I think I will get one.

Conception Harbour

I borrowed a friend's Canon 40D today, if I like it that's probably what I will get as a replacement camera. We went for a drive along Conception Bay and ended up in Conception Harbour where I took all of these photos. It wasn't an ideal day for photography, it was cloudy and snowing. But so far so good.

While my camera is out of commission I thought I would share some collages based on colour (I've seen others do these on their photo-a-day blogs and I like them). I do have a point and shoot camera I can use and I will use that but there was nothing interesting to take photos of today.

Bowring Park

A few photos from Bowring Park this morning right before my camera died. I think the shutter is gone, the same thing that happened in June 2007. Not sure at this point if I will get it repaired or buy a new one. I'm not happy.

I'm still sick so I have no new photos, just these tulips again.

Snowflakes

I went outside today to try and capture snowflakes. Unfortunately the snowflakes that were falling weren't the typical type of snowflakes I think of. They didn't have six sides and look like little stars. I researched snowflakes on the internet and found out that the snowflakes that were falling today were probably "needles", as you can see on this page. Hopefully I can find some nicer looking snowflakes some other day.
