Botanical Gardens

Back to the Botanical Gardens to test out my new camera.

New Camera

Joe surprised me with a new camera today, a Canon EOS-450D Rebel XSi. Here are some of the first shots from it, I'll be practicing with it a lot and hope to get it all figured out before our trip to London in September. One of the features is the ability to take monochrome photos (with my other camera I had to post-process photos to get that look).

Fog at Cape Spear

It was 29ºC in the city today but foggy and only 19º at Cape Spear. A great place to go and cool off!

Portugal Cove

Burton's Pond

Burton's Pond is a small pond on the university campus but there is a lot to photograph there, as you can see by the photos I took today. It was too hot to stay out for long but I got what I was hoping to get (a dragonfly macro) and much more.

Playing With Photos

Every now and then I like to fiddle around with my photos. Here is a photo of a marigold, and 4 "photos" created by using the kaleidoscope tool in Paint Shop Pro.

Salvage

On our drive back from Springdale today we drove down to Salvage. I had never been there but had seen pictures and heard how picturesque it was. It is a nice spot for photography.
