Conception Bay North

We went for a drive today to Conception Bay North in search of icebergs. We saw over 10 and drove through lots of little communities. We ended up at the very tip of the Avalon Peninsula in Bay de Verde. I took a lot of photos. Here are some of the icebergs, I will share more tomorrow.

Petty Harbour

We finally saw the sun today and it was over 20ºC!!!! Amazing!! We went for a drive and saw a few icebergs near Blackhead and Petty Harbour.

Foggy Walk

One thing about the fog, it's peaceful to walk in. Here are a few photos from my walk today.

Snapshots

My nephew and his classmate stayed with me for a couple of days while they were in the city to go to a youth leadership conference (they are both in high school). I snapped a couple of photos of them, 2 when they were in the airport.

A few shots from today. It's still foggy and there is no sun in the forecast.

Fog

We've had too many foggy days to count. It is cold and wet and miserable and I am ready for spring. I think it's a long way off though.

Duck

I saw this duck today near Quidi Vidi, it only has one leg.

Crocus

It actually snowed today! The weather has been so horrible that my crocuses are out but not opened up. I plucked this one from the garden so I could take a few photos of it.

Iceberg and Waves

We went for a short drive today, the weather is still not that great. This iceberg was in Outer Cove and the waves were high at Torbay Beach.

Iceberg and Fort Amherst

This iceberg was probably in Cuckold's Cove a couple of days ago. As you can see we've still got fog and it is still cold.

A Foggy Day

City Views and Crocuses

No pictures of icebergs today because of the fog that was along the coast, as you can see in these photos. Away from the fog it was nice and sunny, but a bit cooler than yesterday. And my crocuses are finally blooming in the front garden.

Blackhead

There are also icebergs off Blackhead. They are visible from Signal Hill but you can see them much closer in Blackhead. It was really warm today (17ºC) with little wind. There was an odd mist hanging along the coastline too.

Southern Shore

We drove down the Southern Shore today in search of icebergs. There were a lot around the Tors Cove area, the most we have seen in one spot yet.

Killick Coast

We drove from Logy Bay to Bauline today in search of icebergs. We saw one in Logy Bay, 2 in Flatrock, 3 in Pouch Cove and several in the distance. That stretch of road is called the Killick Coast.
