Waterford River
Not the most exciting picture. I went for a walk in Bowring Park. It got up to 5ÂșC today, I guess spring is finally on the way.

Yellow!
Looks like it's Rubber Ducky's bathtime (taking pictures for a "yellow" challenge at DPC but doubt I will enter this one).

Brighten Your Day Bouquet
That's what the tag on these flowers said. I bought them for Joe's parents 55th anniversary today, of course I had to take pictures of them.

Another Snowstorm
Hopefully this will be the last snowstorm of winter, but I wouldn't bet on it. Taken on Water Street around 9:15 this morning. Not a lot of people on the go.

New Clock
I bought a new clock for the family room. Not the most exciting picture so I added some texture to it.

Seal on the Ice
Today I saw a seal on the ice in Manuels. I was taking pictures of the boats and the bay and did not even see it, so thanks to the 2 men in a company van who stopped and told me it was there.

At the Beach
Trying my hand at long exposure and getting the water to look smooth. It was chilly on the beach today!

Peppers on a Pedestal
Another evening with no photo for my Blog, I came up with this. They are candle holders with real peppers on them.

Flight Home
We flew home from Edmonton today, the flight left 9:00am and we got home 10:30pm. This picture was taken on approach to Toronto where we had to switch planes. I was surprised that Toronto had no snow.

West Edmonton Mall
I guess a trip to Edmonton wouldn't be complete without a trip to West Edmonton Mall. My brother and I spent all day there today and we still did not see it all. Here is a shot of the big ship in the water area of the mall. The area is too big to get in one shot.

The City of Edmonton
My brother drove down from Fort McMurray to see me and he drove me all over the city sightseeing which is a good thing because I got to see things I never would have on my own. Here is a view of Edmonton from across the river.

Statue in Edmonton
What a long day: up at 3:15am, flight left at 6:30am, switch planes in Toronto, get in Edmonton 1:00pm, a 3 1/2 hour time difference. We walked around a bit downtown and I took a few pictures (of course!). This is a cute statue near City Hall. I edited it on Joe's laptop so I have no idea what the quality is like.

Cute House
I saw this cute house while out taking pictures downtown today.
We're off to Edmonton tomorrow for 4 days, I'll try to update my Blog while I am there. If not, I'll do it when I get back.

Not so Green
It's been freezing rain all day. I ventured out for a few minutes to take some pictures but it was so dull out they weren't that great. I thought this sign was ironic.....promoting green spots while covered in ice and sitting in the snow. At least there's an evergreen tree in the background.

Snow in the Park
The sun broke through the clouds for about 20 minutes today. I only had time to take a couple of quick pictures in between errands. This is an area in Pippy Park where people go cross country skiing, as you can see from the tracks.

Blending In
Taken in Quidi Vidi Village. Not a lot of colour in the photo so I changed it to B&W. The white boat blends in well with the snow on the hill.

High Key Daffodil
This is a mini daffodil, I bought a pot of those at the grocery store too. It's really small, good thing I have the macro lens. I placed it on the soft box and over exposed for a high key look.
Oh, and for those wondering, the abstract photo I posted last week (here) was not ice, it was an old DVD that I put in the microwave for about 5 seconds. Then I took lots of pictures with the light reflecting off it.

Tufted Duck
2 ducks at the lake today, a female Scaup on the left and a male Tufted Duck on the right. The Tufted Duck doesn't normally look like that with a long neck, it must have been stretching. I think they are so cute with their little tufts and bright eyes that stand out against the black feathers. They're usually at the lake every winter and are close to shore since most of the lake is frozen over with just a little bit of open water, so getting pictures of them is pretty easy.
I still had to use my zoom lens though.

Road Closed?
Signal Hill Road today, very windy with lots of drifting snow. I don't think the road was really closed, I drove up it and the drifting was worse before this sign than after it. And there were plenty of cars driving up.
