Memories of New York City

We're home and it was a fantastic vacation. Today it's raining and cold, and between that, my cold and lots of laundry, I haven't taken any photos. So here are a few more of the over 2000 photos I took in New York.

I ♥ New York (NYC Day 7)

Today was our last day in New York City. We spent some time in Bryant Park near our hotel. We also saw a lot of Korean people dressed up for a Korean Day parade. The costumes were very colourful and beautiful.

I'm Back, Back in the New York Groove (NYC Day 6)

We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge today (well, halfway and back) and walked along Canal Street near Chinatown, an area famous for cheap merchandise and knock-off brands.

In a New York Minute Everything Can Change, In a New York Minute Things Can Get a Little Strange (NYC Day 5)

We went to the Central Park Zoo this morning and for a small zoo it was pretty impressive. They have polar bears, snow monkeys, snow leopards, red pandas, seals, sea lions and lots of types of birds and reptiles. In the afternoon we saw a live taping of the David Letterman Show. That was fun!

I'm In A New York State Of Mind (NYC Day 4)

We did a lot of walking today. We walked down 5th Avenue past all the expensive stores like Tiffany's, Gucci and more. We went in St. Patrick's Church, the Trump Tower, the Apple Store and FAO Schwartz toy store. We walked through Central Park and saw Strawberry Fields and the Imagine mosaic. We walked down Central Park West where we saw Dustin Hoffman. I zoomed in to take a picture of him and he spoke to us and asked if we wanted a picture with him. He was very friendly and we had a little chat. Then we walked through the park again to the Guggenheim museum. Thank goodness we got a bus back to our hotel because by that time we had been walking for about 5 hours.

They Say the Neon Lights are Bright on Broadway (NYC Day 3)

Today we went to the Empire State Building and went to the top (86th floor). More amazing views of the city, and it was pretty windy up there. After that we walked down 34th street and did more sightseeing. In the evening we saw the Broadway show The Lion King.....simply amazing and a dream come true for me. When the show got out we walked around Times Square and took pictures of all the lights and crowds.

"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free" (NYC Day 2)

Today was beautiful........a blue sky and good walking temperatures. We took the subway to Battery Park and from there we took the ferry to Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty. She is just as impressive as I thought she would be. There are great views of the NYC skyline from there as well.
