Salzburg, Day 1

Today we took the train from Munich to Salzburg. The ride was lovely, passing through small villages, and when we got closer to Austria you could see the mountains in the distance. We are here for a few days and I hope it doesn't rain every day!

Munich, Day 3

First, a couple of photos from the Marienplatz area last evening. Today was another chilly, rainy day. We made the most of it by sightseeing between rain showers. We visited Nymphenburg Palace and the Botanical Garden in the morning. In the afternoon when it cleared up we walked along the Isar River, through more city streets and back to the market area.

Munich, Day 2

We did a lot of walking today. First from our hotel to Marienplatz, the main square in old town Munich. We walked all around the streets, went inside Frauenkirche, which is huge (unfortunately there were renovations on the outside), and then went to the top of New Town Hall where we had fantastic views of the city. From there we walked around the market area (Viktualienmarkt) and had lunch. After that it was more walking the city streets past beautiful, old buildings. We ended up in Hofgarten and took the subway back to our hotel after about 10.5 km of walking.
