Both in my back garden, both taken with my 100mm macro lens. I was surprised that the goldfinch let me get as close as I did to it. The moth might be a Skipper Butterfly but I am not sure.

Goldfinch and Moth
Both in my back garden, both taken with my 100mm macro lens. I was surprised that the goldfinch let me get as close as I did to it. The moth might be a Skipper Butterfly but I am not sure.

Moth does look like a skipper. And I don't like the look in the eye of the goldfinch - it looks like he's going to attack. You're lucky to be alive!!

Two great photos! :) Guess I didn't look into the goldfinch's eyes close enough.. I thought he looked rather happy sitting there on his branch!
