I didn't bake these, they are store bought. But I thought they would make a nice photo this way.

A Walk in the Snow

I went for a walk in the snow this morning before it got too blustery. It was snowing pretty heavily and I had to put my camera in the camera bag between shots to keep it dry.

Supper

It looks boring (I need to practice my food presentation) but it tasted good. Pacific salmon, rice and honey glazed carrots. Sadly, no dessert.

Apples

A quick shot today, it was blustery all day and I didn't get out. I keep this basket of apples either in the kitchen or dining room, they're fake.

Flicker & Starling

Even though we live in the middle of the city we usually see birds in the trees and at the feeders in our back garden. Today I saw 10 robins, 20 starlings, 3 crows, several goldfinches and juncos and a flicker. I took some pictures (of course) of the flicker at the suet feeder and almost got a good shot of it chasing off the starling.

Gulls

A couple of gulls near the entrance to the harbour.

Blizzard

Sorry, no interesting photos today, we were stuck inside all day due to a blizzard. Most businesses, offices and all the schools were closed. Here are 2 photos taken from the front door and the garage this morning.

Memories

The flower is a Primula from the grocery store (a potted plant) and the background is a sheet of printed vellum from the craft store. I used the 100mm macro lens and converted the image to sepia.

Snowy Trees

We got about 20cm of snow yesterday, the trees are covered today.

Snowstorm

It's pretty stormy out today but that didn't stop us from going out for a drive (mainly to take pictures) or the kids from sliding.

Witless Bay

Today we drove to Witless Bay. It poured in the morning but cleared off in the afternoon.

Rennie's River

It was much nicer out today, it warmed up to -2ºC and it was sunny this morning so I went for a short walk along Rennie's River to take pictures.

Ocean Mist

It is colder today than it was yesterday by a couple of degrees and I said I wasn't going to go out and take photos, that I'd set up a still life shot inside. But this morning when I was driving downtown to drop Joe off at work I saw mist rising from the ocean. I've never seen that before. I've seen mist over lakes and rivers but never over the ocean. So I went back home to get my camera and took some pictures. The first picture was taken from Harbourside Park looking out through the narrows and the 2nd picture was taken across the harbour near Fort Amherst.

Temperature: -14ºC, Wind-chill: -24ºC

Windsor Lake

This is Windsor Lake, one of the lakes that supplies water for the city. It was pretty cold today, -10ºC with a wind-chill of -19ºC.

Floating

An experiment that didn't turn out exactly like I wanted.

Snow

We got about 10-15cm of snow overnight, I walked around downtown and took some pictures this morning, the snow was stuck to everything and looked pretty. I happened to take a photo very similar to one I took last October so I put them together to show the difference.

On My Walk

I went for a walk around Kent's Pond today, a grey day but no wind, around 5ºC. We're supposed to get snow tonight, there's no snow on the ground now. I saw several robins, juncos, chickadees and crows and one squirrel.
