Goldfinch and Moth

Both in my back garden, both taken with my 100mm macro lens. I was surprised that the goldfinch let me get as close as I did to it. The moth might be a Skipper Butterfly but I am not sure.

It rained all morning and after the rain 2 baby birds played in the water on the deck. I think it's a baby Junco.

Cape Spear

I went to Cape Spear today, it was really hot in the city so I thought it would be cooler with a breeze out there. I was wrong, it was really hot there too. For those who don't know, Cape Spear is the most easterly point of land in North America. Two pictures, the working lighthouse and the old lighthouse which is now a museum.

Another hot sunny day, the lawn is doing well, this helps!

Bell Island

We went to Bell Island today. It's a 20 minute drive and then a 20 minute ferry ride over. 2 ferries make several trips a day. I took over 200 pictures, it was hard deciding which ones to show here.

The sky wasn't exactly this colour, I digitally enchanced it. It's more dramatic than the original.

Lilies in my flower box, I am really pleased with how everything is growing.

Signal Hill Trail

2 pictures of the trail, the first one of someone about to start the descent down, another one zoomed in on part of the trail. If you look closely you can see some people. I've walked this trail and it's not too bad when you're going down!
